The native token of one of the oldest blockchains, Litecoin, is going through a challenging phase. After its third halving event, the price of LTC has dropped by almost 50%.

However, Litecoin investors seem to remain optimistic about the project’s long-term prospects. Key on-chain metrics indicate that the number of long-term LTC holders has reached an impressive 5 million.

According to data from the analytical platform IntoTheBlock, this week saw the number of long-term LTC holders reach a new all-time high of 5 million addresses.

Long-term holders, often referred to as “hodlers,” are investors who have held the coins for at least a year. It’s worth noting that this criterion can vary depending on the specific platform; some on-chain analysis platforms may inсlude investors who have held assets for 5-6 months in this category.

Interestingly, the number of “hodlers” continues to increase even despite Litecoin’s weak price performance. This suggests that investors have confidence that the asset will bring them significant profits in the long term.
