Sam Altman, the founder of OpenAI, the company behind the artificial intelligence platform ChatGPT, has expressed concern about the future of Bitcoin (BTC) and cryptocurrencies, which, in his opinion, are facing pressure from the U.S. government.

“I am disappointed with what the U.S. government has been doing lately; this war on cryptocurrency, this unwillingness to let go of control, makes me worry for the country,” Altman said.

His comments reflect the growing unease among crypto enthusiasts and industry leaders about the increasing government intervention in the realm of digital currencies, leading to constant criticism of agencies such as the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

Altman also expressed deep concern about the potential transformation of the United States into a surveillance state, especially in the context of money control. He also stated that he is vehemently opposed to the concept of central bank digital currencies (CBDCs)
